BIOGRAPHY
Nathan East is one of the most recorded bassists in modern music, celebrated for his versatility, groove, and signature tone. Born in Philadelphia and raised in San Diego, he began on the cello before moving to bass at age 14, quickly finding his place in jazz, R&B, pop, and rock. A founding member of the jazz supergroup Fourplay, Nathan has appeared on thousands of recordings and toured the world with legends such as Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Daft Punk. His solo releases, including his acclaimed debut Nathan East and follow-up Reverence, have both topped the jazz charts and earned Grammy recognition, further cementing his reputation as a musician’s musician.
Noah East, Nathan’s son, is an accomplished pianist and Hammond B3 organist whose natural talent emerged at an early age. Starting piano lessons at four and demonstrating perfect pitch, he quickly developed into a skilled performer, making his recording debut at just 13 on his father’s Grammy-nominated solo album. By his early 20s, Noah was already touring internationally, performing at venues like Tokyo’s Blue Note and with projects such as The Cream of Clapton Band. In 2025, father and son came together to release Father Son, their first full-length collaboration—a warm, soulful album blending originals and reimagined classics. The project reflects both their individual artistry and the deep musical bond they share, offering a powerful dialogue across generations.
