BIOGRAPHY

Grammy Award-winning guitarist Lee Ritenour has been a defining voice in contemporary jazz and fusion for over five decades. Nicknamed “Captain Fingers” for his dazzling technique, Ritenour launched his career as a session prodigy in the late '60s, contributing to iconic recordings with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, and Aretha Franklin before co-founding the legendary jazz supergroup Fourplay. His solo work, spanning over 40 albums, seamlessly blends jazz, funk, Latin, and Brazilian influences, showcasing not just technical brilliance but a deep melodic sensibility. From his classic "Is It You" to his genre-bending explorations with Herbie Hancock and Dave Grusin, Ritenour has remained a restless innovator, always pushing the boundaries of sound and collaboration.
