Alison Brown is a GRAMMY-winning banjo trailblazer, producer, and co-founder of Compass Records. A Harvard-educated former investment banker, she has redefined roots music by weaving bluegrass and jazz into an innovative sound hailed by The Wall Street Journal, NPR, CBS, and USA Today.

Her latest album, On Banjo, showcases original compositions with collaborators like Steve Martin, Kronos Quartet, Sharon Isbin, Anat Cohen, and Sierra Hull.

Honored with the USA Artists Fellowship, IBMA’s Distinguished Achievement Award, and induction into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame, Alison also serves on the Recording Academy’s Board of Governors and co-chairs the Steve Martin Banjo Prize.
